Why does an office chair have wheels?

There are no stupid questions category! Nevertheless, we notice that this question regularly comes by so we would like to take the time to clarify this! Also whether there are benefits to office chairs without wheels?

We may not be aware of it, but wheels from office chairs are essential for us to move us through the office. They enable us to easily and quickly go from one place to another.

The wheels also help with the balance. If we have a office chair on wheels, we can move our chair in any direction without lifting it and carrying it around. This is especially useful when we have many things in our hands or when our hands are full of other things such as papers or coffee cups.

But why does an office chair have wheels?

Office chairs are almost always with wheels to ensure that you have freedom of movement during your work. But of course this costs some energy since office chairs come up with braked wheels as standard. There is of course nothing wrong with some sent exercise, but some people can get a curved back of this because they continue to change position.  So the wheels have advantages and disadvantages.

When is it useful not to take office chair wheels?

Yes you read that right We would like to offer an overview for situations where it is sometimes better not to take wheels under your office chair. With work, we offer a free option for set -up pieces under all office chairs. You only have to indicate this in the comments we do the rest.

  • When the office chair is placed in a moving location (for example a ship, delivery van or places where there are many vibrations think of the control room of a roller coaster)

  • When freedom of movement is not necessary due to a lack of space (think of cash register locations, factory ties or control rooms)

  • If the office chair is only in one place (if there is no reason to move the chair and it must remain in place)

We do want to alert you to the following:

Because you move the chair less easily, your body will take a specific position for a longer period. This can ultimately result in you experiencing complaints. It is therefore important to take a regular break. Walk a round or drink a cup of coffee (just get it yourself of course)
