What types of meeting tables are there? And which suits me?
Meeting tables accommodate important meetings between management, employees and customers. Read this guide about the different types of meeting tables to decide which you need in your meeting room.
Most popular types of meeting tables
There are many shapes and sizes of meeting tables, and the most common is a rectangle. The large surface area of a rectangle gives everyone enough space for laptops, notebooks and folders, and there is sufficient legroom for maximum comfort. You can choose from many different types of meeting tables with possibilities for a small group or an entire department.
Which setup suits me?
You can prepare your meeting tables in your meeting room in various setups, depending on what is needed. Some options are:
Boardroom: The boardroom style is the standard meeting setup. There is one rectangular table, with a number of chairs on the long sides and a chair for the leader on one of the short sides. The boardroom style is best for telephone meetings and meetings in agenda style.
U shape: The U-shaped setup looks like a horseshoe, with at least three tables placed together and chairs on the outside. Those present can easily communicate with the speaker and with each other. U-shaped style is an excellent choice for training and presentations.
Cave square: The hollow square arrangement is the most interactive meeting table setup, with at least four tables that form a rectangle with open space in the middle. The speaker can stand in the middle to address everyone, and the participants can communicate. This style is ideal for breakout meetings and workshops.
Classroom: There are several tables in rows in a classroom setup, with the chairs to the speaker. Participants can view the presentation while making notes on the table top.
Confectionery: The pastry style consists of several smaller tables in the room that can accommodate four to eight people. This setup promotes network options and is common for meetings where lunch is served.
